If you are over 75 years, we recommend an annual health assessment

health assessment for over 75s

All Australians over the age of 75 are eligible for a free annual check up. This health assessment will identify any  issues, as well as assist people in their daily life. Education is also a big part of this, and our nurses can provide advice on fall prevention and other things that will help to improve your health and lifestyle. This check is bulk billed to Medicare.

What will happen at my Health Assessment?

Most patients will meet with our nurse at the practice but arrangements can also be made for a nurse to visit at home. The nurse will ask you some questions about your medical history and perform some simple tests which may include:

  • Vision check
  • Hearing check
  • Skin check
  • Urine sample
  • Blood pressure
  • Medication review
  • Immunisation status
  • Weight
  • Height
  • Questions and nutrition/diet
  • Questions about your social activities
  • Questions about your daily activities

How long will my assessment take?

We like to be thorough so please allow an hour for your health assessment.

How do I arrange a Heath Assessment?
